Story:

Gautamiputra Satakarni is a Satavahana ruler who ruled the entire India. His reign consists of many battles and victories which had a purpose behind them. This film focuses on the reign, purpose and the reign of one of the most powerful kings of all times

Actors :

None other Nandamuri Balakrishna can pull off this role. He matched the character of Gautamiputra Satakarni to perfection. His diction and command over the dialogues is terrific and he is brilliant in the emotional scenes. Hema Malini plays the powerful character of Gautami Balasri, mother of Satakarni. Shriya Saran plays the character of Vashishti Devi, speaks a lot with her eyes in the movie and perfectly complements Balakrishna. Sivaraj Kumar is impressive in the song he appears which narrates the entire story of Satakarni. Subhbalekha Sudhakar, Tanikella Bharani, Ravi Prakash and others have done justice to their roles.

Technicians :

Gnan Sekhar cinematography is top notch. The visuals are fantastic and rich and give the feel of the era of Satakarni. Sai Madhav dialogues are the biggest pillars of this movie and they make every individual burn with emotions. Chirantan Bhatt’s music is impressive. 'Ekimeeda' and Saho Sarvabhauma are the two best songs given in this album which are also beautifully picturized. The background score is also very apt as it elevates the scenes to a different level. Director Krish does everything perfect in his execution and drives the movie right from the first scene

Zee Cinemalu review :

The movie starts off with an interesting note which is a warning to a kingdom by Satakarni and quickly unfolds into war sequences. The scenes involving Balakrishna and Hema Malini are terrific especially the Agra Tamboolam scene. Balakrishna and Shriya have excelled complementing each other with emotional scenes. The sequence where Satakarni takes his infant child to the war is surely going to give a goosebumps moment to all the audience. The 100th film of Balakrishna couldn’t have been better than this highly inspiring story of Satakarni. This is a sure shot watch for all the Telugu language and Telugu movie lovers
